This event is organized in the frame of "Belgium, partner country of the 16th International Conference on Plasma Surface Engineering - PSE 2018" which will be held on September 17 - 21, 2018 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. For further information about the forthcoming PSE conference, please visit: http://www.pse-conferences.net

Scope

Today, cold-plasma - based processes have become standard procedures for nanoscale surface modifications. The development of those technologies could only be achieved through the detailed understanding of the plasma itself and its interactions with the surrounding surfaces. This knowledge-based technological progress was largely enabled by the implementation of advanced plasma diagnostic and modelling studies.

Various techniques are available to analyze the gas phase and to model the plasma physics and chemistry. The ultimate goal of this workshop is therefore to answer the following question: “How can I improve my process by using plasma analysis and modelling tools?”

During this two-day workshop, co-organized with the European Society of Thin FIlms (EFDS), renowned experts from both the academic and the industrial world will provide the audience with an in-depth view of plasma analysis and modelling studies, in a way to link basic plasma science to industrial applications of plasma-based deposition technologies.

The workshop is intended for scientists from Industry and Academia as well as students. In order to allow the attendees to discuss their latest outcomes, a poster session will be organized at the end of the first day. The workshop will take place in the modern and relaxed atmosphere of the Van der Valk Congress Hotel, in Mons.
